Keeping the Chattahoochee River Clean

Ferrovial Construction team members joined together with the National Park Service to canoe down the Chattahoochee River and pick up trash found in the water.

Careers in Construction

Cintra and Ferrovial Construction sponsored and participated in the Cobb Innovation & Technology Academy Future Fest 2024. Staff talked with students about careers in the highway construction industry.

Helping With Hunger

Georgia Express Link Partners presented the Atlanta Community Food Bank with $10,000 to help with hunger needs in the Atlanta region. Staff also worked in the warehouse sorting food and making produce bags for seniors.

STEM Day 2023

Cintra and Ferrovial Construction participated in the ACEC STEM Day at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Students learned about different frictions on a roadway and how sand is used in highway construction.

STEM Learning at Lake Lanier

Georgia Express Link Partners collaborated with the Chattahoochee Riverkeepers to provide the opportunity for middle school students to learn about water quality and wildlife near the water. GEP’s sponsorship allows 167 children to participate in this class.

Preparing Youth for the School Year

GEP volunteers from Ferrovial Construction and Cintra worked alongside staff and volunteers from the Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs to fill 239 backpacks for middle school and high school students for a successful start to the 2023/2024 year.

Cleaning Vickery Creek Park

The GEP team and the National Park Service picked up trash along the banks and trails of the Chattahoochee River in Vickery Creek Park. The team filled 23 bags of trash. That equates to approximately 575 pounds.

Community Assistance Center Help

A team of volunteers from Georgia Express Link Partners spent part of their day helping at the Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs. They stocked food donations and processed donated clothing at the thrift store.

Canoe Cleanup on the Chattahoochee River

GEP volunteers from Ferrovial Construction and C.W. Matthews joined the National Park Service to collect trash from the Chattahoochee River. The crew gathered 15 bags of trash during their five-mile trip.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering

Ferrovial Construction talked with youth about engineering careers and did learning activities at the ACEC Introduce a Girl to Engineering Event at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta Campus. 

Adopt-A-Child for the Holidays

The GEP team worked with the Community Assistance Center to fulfil the wish lists of 37 children. The team shopped and delivered the gifts to the Center so families could have a happy holiday.

Packaging Potatoes

Ferrovial Construction and Cintra volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank sorting and packaging 5,400 pounds of potatoes for families in the local area, providing 4,500 meals.

Construction Ready CareerEXPO

Ferrovial Construction attended this two-day event to talk with youth about future careers in the construction industry and what types of jobs are in high demand in construction.

Lending a Hand and Muscle at Food Pantry

GEP volunteers helped the North Fulton Community Charities unload and stack three trucks of food donations that were collected in one weekend. 

Vickery Creek Cleanup

A team of volunteers from Ferrovial Construction traversed the banks and trail along Vickery Creek in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area to help keep this greenspace free of debris and a great place to visit for all.

Summer Lunches for Youth

Ferrovial Construction set a new record of packing 564 bags that contained a week’s worth of meals for youth in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs to make sure children do not go without food when school is closed for the summer

Food Bank Assistance

Ferrovial Construction volunteered their time to help out at the Atlanta Community Food Bank sorting and packing food.

Covid-19 Community Involvement

Ferrovial Construction donated $67,500 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank to assist residents with food resources in the Atlanta area.
